Whispers in the Belt

The six factions of the belt have always had opinions about each other. Now they'll share them with you — if you've earned enough trust. v0.14.0 introduces Faction Gossip, a new social layer where factions reveal what they really think about their neighbors through casual opinions, strategic intelligence, and urgent warnings.

Faction Gossip

As your reputation with a faction grows, they'll start talking. At Common Ground, you'll hear casual opinions — Commander Varek might dismiss the Chorus Archive's "cataloguing obsession." Earn Trust Earned status and factions share real intel: trade positions, resource vulnerabilities, strategic movements. Reach The Pact and you'll receive warnings about threats that could reshape the belt's power dynamics.

24 unique gossip templates span 10 directed faction pairs, each voiced through the faction's established representative. Gossip appears in the Comms Log with violet highlighting, distinct from regular broadcasts and intercepts. Every faction speaks in character — the Kemm-Vor Foundry quantifies everything, the Web Exchange trades information like currency, and the Sirius Fleet frames conflict through deep-time philosophy.

CI Pipeline Hardening

Deploy and verification jobs no longer silently pass when they fail. If something breaks during deployment, the pipeline stops and tells you about it instead of shrugging and moving on.

Cultures of the Belt is free to play. Pay what you can if you want to keep the lights on in the belt.
