v0.5.8 — The Land Remembers Its Music

Each biome in The End of Eternity now has its own ambient soundtrack. Walk into a forest and the music shifts — bowed low strings, hollow-wood resonance, wind moving through processed textures. Step toward the coast and the sound opens up: breathing pads with ten-second swell cycles, distant tuned harbor bells, tidal sub-bass. The transitions crossfade so the world feels continuous, not cut into zones.

Species now learn magic at different speeds depending on what their culture remembers. Forty-six species have been mapped to the Akashic Records — each with affinities drawn from their mythological lineage. A species whose folklore is full of fire rituals will pick up pyromancy faster. One whose stories are about reading the sky will have a natural aptitude for divination. Affinity multiplies learning speed but never gates access. Everyone can learn everything; some just carry a head start from where they came from.

The Wisdom Goddess system no longer draws from a static registry. Instead, it searches the world for deities that have actually emerged through play — through belief, worship, and accumulated cultural weight. The goddess who guides a village’s learning is the one the villagers made real, not one the developers pre-selected.

Under the hood: a circular dependency between the core and world packages was broken, the Docker production build now resolves peer conflicts cleanly, and 45 previously skipped tests have been restored to the suite. All 13,505 tests pass.
