They Heard You
The first ten minutes of MVEE are beautiful and strange. But they were also silent in a way that felt wrong. You’d speak to a creature and get nothing back — no sign it registered, no shift in posture, nothing. The creature’s biochemistry was already responding (loneliness dropping, curiosity rising), but you couldn’t see any of it.
Now you can. When you speak near a creature, it pauses — a brief attention beat, like a head-turn you can feel. Then a faint warmth blooms through its body as oxytocin flows. The intensity depends on the creature’s own genome: some barely register your voice, others flush deeply. It isn’t a UI highlight. It’s the creature visibly feeling your words land.
We also added a small line to the onboarding: a hint that creatures change over time. The whole game is about watching evolution happen, and the old welcome text never mentioned it. Now it does — one sentence, no spoilers.
